EduCation Initiatives
Realizing the power of education, Helping Hugs, Inc. has sponsored the cost of educating children of the St. Joseph Parish. Now in our twelfth year, the pupil population continues to grow to the current 360 students. Donations support three elementary schools in the city of Cotes-de-Fer and the villages of St Anthony and Platon. Also, limited scholarships are awarded to worthy students to attend a local secondary school. Many of the families cannot afford to give their children an education and so Father Islaire is grateful for the assistance our donors provide.

MEdical Services
Medical services include mission trips to St. Joseph, our twin parish, its’ schools and many chapels in remote areas of Cotes de Fer. Teams provide primary and sometimes emergency care when necessary, as well as health teaching for primary prevention. Chapel directors are taught how to use first aid supplies and over the counter medications. Medicines as well as personal hygiene kits are given to patients in beautiful handmade, individual, reusable cloth bags lovingly sewn by St. William’s Sew and Sew ladies, and First Baptist Church’s Dorcas Sewing team.
